Flow Rate Calculation

Calculation of Average Flow Rates

The calculation of flow rates is based on use of a Time Window of 10 seconds for all types of Gas Meters. The calculation of flow rates is done by measuring the time between 2 incoming pulses. The calculation of the output to the current and voltage interface (Analog Output) can be made using one of two methods (setting in set-up menu, see paragraph 6.1, point 12):

  1. The Arithmetic Method

The arithmetic method (averaged value) is recommended when fluctuations in the flow rate are small. Changes in the flow rate will be displayed immediately.

  2. The Integrating Method

The integrating method (e-Function) is recommended when fluctuations in the flow rate are large. Fast, small changes will be averaged.
